2) Can I use mSpeak to read my emails and memos?
Yes, you can. Selecting Run
in background in settings form will enable
you to launch mSpeak with a HardKey. Selecting
Integrate in edit menu in
settings form will enable you to launch mSpeak
in background with any Edit menu.
3) What is Hard Key?
Hard key is special purpose key other than alpha
numeric keys on keyboard. mSpeak supports integration
of 9 Hard keys HOME, MENU, FIND, CALC, UP, DOWN,
LEFT, RIGHT, VOICEMEMO (on Treo). Select Hard Key
in settings form and you can start mSpeak in background
with that Hard Key.
4) What is Edit menu Integration?
mSpeak's Selfit technology integrates automatically
with other applications making it compatible with
numerous Palm OS applications. It integrates itself
in Global Edit menu of PalmOS. So you can invoke
mSpeak from any application which uses Global
Edit menu. Like Memo pad, Versamail, Blazer, Snapper
Mail.
5) How to use mSpeak in Versamail?
In Treo devices Select/Copy Email text in Versamail
and invoke mSpeak from Hard Key. It will read
out your Email. In Non-Treo devices like Tungsten
T3 copying text is automatic.
6) Can I use it for webpage reading in Blazer
or WebPro?
Yes mSpeak can be used to read web pages. In
Blazer and Webpro invoked from Edit Menu or Hard
key.
7) Why in Blazer mSpeak is not visible?
Blazer refreshes screen frequently. So mSpeak
will not be visible on blazer but it will read out
web page content.
8) What are the minimum requirements to use mSpeak?
Palm device with OS Version 5.0 or greater is
required. mSpeak is tested to be compatible with
Palm TreoTM 650, TungstenTM, LifeDriveTTM and ZireTM
9) What are the bandwidth requirements to use
mSpeak?
A minimum of 16kbps is required for continuous
Live Streaming. mSpeak Live Streaming will work
on any type of internet connection (Including GPRS
with low bandwidth).
10) What is Live Streaming?
Live Streaming is playing audio while it is downloading.
mSpeak buffers first 25% of the audio and starts
playing.

12) How can I know if I am using the latest version
of mSpeak and how can I perform an upgrade, if
needed?
mSpeak can receive upgrades via OTA (Over the
Air). Select the upgrade option in the application
menu to check if any new versions are available
for download. If a new version is available, mSpeak
receives the upgrade over the air and automatically
installs it on your device. |
